living plants vs. dying flowers

My assistant and I shot Kestrin & Jonathan's insanely awesome 2-day wedding on April 2nd & 3rd in Carmel & San Fransisco. Instead of floral arrangements, the couple opted to go with air plants (tillandsias), succulents, moss, branches and other green gorgeousness for everything from their centerpieces to her bouquet... all arrangments provided by Flora Grubb.

This is an excellent alternative to florals for many reasons, but mostly because plants don't just die the next day after the wedding (many people believe having a ton of flowers for one day is a waste) and also because these arrangements were absolutely gorgeous. And different. To see all their wedding photos on my blog go here.

And on the second night of the wedding, the reception/party for friends took place at Flora Grubb gardens...

To see the rest of the pics from this incredible wedding & read all about it, please visit my blog here. And you absolutely must check out Flora Grubb if you're even in the SF area. They posted their own blog describing some of the plants they used here.
